MISSING IN ACTION

A story of how Bill Petty, a nose-gunner on a B-24 Liberator Bomber survived for 72 days behind enemy lines during World War II. That sometimes silent, sometimes violent war, very few people knew about. Hiding in the daytime, walking through icy cold, snowy Alps at night, with aching bodies and determined wills to live.
This story is one of which all Americans can be proud of --Bill Petty's story is a vital part of the history of the United States Air Force.
Bernie S. Bass Col. USAF (Ret.)
Former Director USAF Museum, Dayton, OH.

Our Nation needs more people like Bill Petty -- who serve their Country with determination, Courage and Pride.
Albert Gore, Vice President, United States of America

There was hope and courage on Bill Petty's part as he continued to struggle against what must have seemed insurmountable odds in trying to escape from the enemy.
Dr. John A. Ishee, Publisher
